DOCUMENTARY CREDITS OFFICER
Job description
The Documentary Credits Officer is responsible for processing and executing all types of documentary credits transactions and instruments, including Import & Export L/C, Inward & Outward documentary collections, Commercial guarantees, etc., for an assigned portfolio of customers.
- Handle and ensure timely, precise, and efficient execution of customers’ and correspondents’ instructions related to all documentary credits transactions and instruments, as well as non-client transactions, with support from colleagues or supervisors when needed.
- Provide technical advice and support to customers, Relationship Managers, and colleagues in the Financial Institutions division.
- Maintain regular and professional communication with customers in cooperation with Relationship Managers.
- Communicate efficiently and in a timely manner, particularly by informing Relationship Managers of any changes in their customers' positions resulting from documentary transactions.
Required profile
- Mandatory or secondary school diploma (e.g., CFC banking, Maturity, etc.).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in documentary credits within a bank, ideally with a recognized Commodity Trade Finance profile.
- Strong technical knowledge, both theoretical and practical, of all documentary transactions.
- Good understanding of the related rules and regulations in this sector.
- Well-organized, able to prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Very good communication skills, fluent in both French and English (written and spoken).
- Precise, accurate, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable with IT tools.
- A good team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced and international environment.
