For one of our clients, a private bank based in Geneva, we are looking for a:

 

HEAD OF INVESTMENT & SUITABILITY RISK

 

Job description

  • Oversee investment risk across discretionary and advisory portfolios, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor market developments, portfolio activities and investment performance to identify and anticipate risks across asset classes
  • Lead and develop the investment risk framework, including methodologies, controls and governance processes
  • Conduct ongoing and ad hoc controls related to investment suitability and portfolio compliance
  • Challenge investment decisions, portfolio construction and risk exposures, acting as a second line of defense
  • Develop and enhance risk reporting, dashboards and management tools for internal stakeholders
  • Communicate risk insights and recommendations to portfolio managers, investment teams and senior management
  • Participate in relevant committees and governance bodies, representing the investment risk function
  • Contribute to group-wide initiatives related to investment risk, regulatory developments and ESG considerations
  • Lead, mentor and manage a team, ensuring high standards of delivery and continuous improvement

 

Required profile

  • Strong experience in investment risk, suitability or investment compliance within private banking or asset management
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets, instruments and portfolio management
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g. MiFID, LSFin) and suitability requirements
  • Proven experience in a second line of defense / risk control function
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team
  • Strong analytical mindset with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders
  • Fluent in English
