For one of our clients, a prestigious company in the luxury industry based in Geneva, we are looking for an highly organized and proactive:
ACCOUNTING & ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
to manage the accounting operations and office administration for their Geneva office.
This dual-role position requires a professional with solid accounting knowledge, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to support operational and shipping activities. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and efficient administrative support in coordination with their UAE Finance Headquarters.
Job description
- Support full-cycle accounting for the Geneva office, including general ledger, AR, AP, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing for the Financial Reporting preparation in coordination with UAE Finance Headquarters.
- Monitor accounts receivable, following up with customers to ensure timely collections.
- Track and process accounts payable, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation.
- Assist in preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns, including VAT reconciliations and handling cross-border VAT for imports and exports.
- Ensure compliance with Swiss Federal and Cantonal tax obligations, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, stamp duty, and customs duties specific to the jewelry and luxury goods industry.
- Manage and maintain accurate payroll processing for Swiss employees, including salary calculation, social security contributions (AVS/AI/APG/AC/LPP), withholding taxes, and year-end salary certificates.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) standards applicable to the Swiss jewelry sector.
- Stay current with Swiss regulatory changes (FATCA, CRS, anti-money laundering laws) and ensure the company’s ongoing compliance.
- Liaise with banks for reconciliation and payment compliance, including FinSA (Financial Services Act) and FinIA (Financial Institutions Act) considerations if applicable.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Entry level or with relevant accounting and administrative experience.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and local tax compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software SAP B1 and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Experience with international operations and logistics coordination is a plus.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) both in English and French.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Able to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders across countries.
